LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE:

If you have a business targeted at the millennial market, you must understand how to reach them. Millennials are an enigma to some, including startup companies. If you’re a startup that’s had trouble reaching millennials in the past, you’re not alone.

If you’re in this group, you won’t want to miss our latest episode of the Inner Edison Podcast.

We sat down with Curt Cuscino, CEO and founder of Hype Life Brands. He has been helping lifestyle brands, and disruptive startups reach audiences since 2001.

Here’s how they have helped companies like Hudl Music, Epitaph Records, Adult Swim, and more.

Big Idea

The first thing Hypelife does with a brand or startup is flesh out the big idea. That helps establish their buying tribes. Fleshing out the big ideas also helps think about messaging and positioning.

When lifestyle brands and startups know their big idea, they can talk about it in a clear and concise way. That can help with acquiring investors if that’s where they want to go.

The big idea is the foundation for everything. Curt explains it like this, “I liken it to building a pyramid. You know?”

He explains the strategy of fleshing out the big idea is the base of the pyramid. With each process, the process gets more specific and targeted.

The Launch

Curt likes to sum up what Hypelife Brands does with a simple phrase. “We build, launch, and grow startups.”

After the big idea gets fleshed out, the team goes to work. The creative team designs materials aimed to reach your buying tribes.

The creative team also leverages its knowledge of millennial culture. They create marketing pieces for the places they hang out online. Then they make sure marketing materials connect to what millennials want most.

Hypelife Brands takes businesses from conception to market.

Marketing and Analysis

Curt explains the next phase like this, “ At the end of the day, growing that startup towards our key KPIs.”

Once the brand or startup launches, Hypelife Brands implements your messaging. They post to social media sites where your audience hangs out. They also run pay-per-click ads.

The messaging is then analyzed to meet key performance indicators. Curt explains that this is an essential step in the process.

“You have to build customer traction. Especially if you’re a startup founder and you want to raise outside capital.”

He explains that this route isn’t for everyone. Even so, he likes to set this up in case they decide to seek outside capital later. They have even helped companies sell for millions.

Some of the companies Hypelife Brands have helped include:

  • Live Work Loft – $13 million
  • Pheonix International – $635 million

Don’t wish to sell? No problem! Hypelife Brands will continue to support your disruptive startup or lifestyle brand.
